Who We Are...

At Workforce Solutions East Texas, the Business Service Unit is responsible for running the East Texas Job Fairs. This Unit is small in number yet large in responsibility and follow-through. These state-sponsored East Texas Job Fairs have a history of providing the most results-oriented, cost-effective career fairs available in Texas. In 1998, the first ever fair hosted 8 companies and slightly over 100 attendees. Today our East Texas Job Fairs host between 50 - 80 companies, depending on location and venue. The average fee per booth at our fairs is quite reasonable when compared to the industry standard. Our fee covers the costs of the fair including media advertising, printing, mail-outs, booths, and food for employers. Each fair is advertised through radio and newspaper ads, as well as the Internet.

Our Past Success...

Over the past year we have assisted more than 10,000 job seekers and hosted over 500 employers. In the interest of those we serve, partnerships have been developed with local Chambers of Commerce, colleges and universities, Workforce Solutions East Texas Board and community-based organizations. These partnerships help to determine the needs of the people in the local area and how we can meet those needs.
